    I bought my first Scotty Cameron putter about 4 months ago. Since then, I have bought two more. I love the feel and performance that they provide. My consistency has improved and the number of putts per round has decreased. I switch between them depending on the speed of the greens and whether it fits my eye that day. How many Scotty's do you own and have you grown to love them like I have? #TeamTitleist #Liv2Golf

    One should have what one needs, then, what one can afford!

    I have three older ones (left to right):

    • an original Red X;
    • a Studio Style Newport 2.5, and;
    • a Pro Platinum Newport Mid Slant.
    First, I received the NP 2.5 as a nearly new gift, then purchased the Red X and then picked up the VERY used Mid Slant.
    Had the Studio Style been a NP 2, I would probably have one Scotty!  I cannot cry, though; it was a very generous gift!
    Yes, that is the wrong Red X headcover.  I bought it just as the second gen Red Xs were released.  The shop only had the new headcovers, so that's what I got.

  4. You can never have too many Camerons! I probably change putters more than I should however I have a room dedicated to putters as well as an indoor putting green in case I want to experiment with different putters! So what is the right number? As many as you like!

    I have 4 right now but my collection generally ranges between 3 and 6 at any one time.  My long-term collecting goal is to find a perfect Tour putter to game.

    I have two Cameron putters.  One that my dad gave me when I started playing golf back in the late 90's and one I got at a garage sale.  I think they will soon have a newer brother added to the fold, as I have my eye on a X5R right now.  These putters will never leave me, and will be passed to my son one day for his kids to admire and use if they ever take up golf.

    Get fit for the correct type of putter. Scotty offers so many different styles with varying toe-hangs for every type of stroke so get fit for a putter that fits your stroke and stick with it.

    That being said, I have had around 15 different Scotty's in the last 12 years, I currently have 1 but am looking for another that fits my updated left hand low putting stroke.

    Keep up the search!

    Chris92009 - LOL, I have a room that size I could put in a practice green, but I'd lose it in the divorce if I had that many Scotty putters. My wife doesn't understand all the equipment changes now, so as I decide on a new club, the old gets traded. Now to rationalize a second Scotty. I have a Futura but some days I feel a need for a Go-Lo. May I should/could get his & her Scotty's.

    Chris92009, how long have you been collecting Scotty's? Have you always played them, or did you stumble upon them by accident like I did. It's amazing how once you have some, you feel the need to have just one more!

    I have been collecting since the mid/late 1990's however I got more into it about 12 years ago...I came across them by accident at a local golf course purchasing a Teryllium Black newport Long neck and fell in love!  I always try to pick up new shapes and designs and as time has gone along it has been important to me to have some fun wall hangers that were doodled on by Scotty and/or autographed.  Once you try one you have to have another! LOL

  25. I have thought about this question "how many Scotty's should one have" and it really comes down to personal preference...some people I know have one SC Putter and they are very very happy, others like myself accumulate many over the years and can't wait to grow the collection.  I always try to add a few every year albeit which one's to add is always a question.  I typically would not purchase anything I would not game myself however I have from time to time feel in love with the look of a putter such as the Del Mar LE Buttom Back Art of Putting and had to have it! Oh well!!

    Regardless, I hope everyone enjoys the hobby and no matter what the number is in their collection, they love their Scotty(s)!

    I bought my 1st Scotty in 1998 and have not looked back! The collection has grown to 12 and will continue to grow! The best part about Scotty Cameron putters is they look as great as they putt.

    Enjoy them and happy hunting on new putters!

    I thought Ody putters were good until I put my hands on a Scotty Cameron in 2013.  I now have my second Scotty and love the new one.  I'm a loyal putter (play 4 days a week) so I just can't bounce back a forth between putters.  So if I get another putter I won't get rid of the other two but will putt with the same one for a longer period of time.

    SC = great putters!

     I've been collecting since 2009. I started with a studio select and have jumped to Tour putters. They feel like they give you a little bit more confidence to make any putt. I'm at nine Tour putters and ten or so OTR's and limited putters. Numerous covers for these putters as well but let's keep it to just putters.

    I'm currently on the market for a new putter. I have been doing my research, and it's a hard thing because every company claims that their design is god's gift to golf, so most of my research has been by asking people in the golf course. I have yet to find someone that speaks negative about Scotty Cameron putters. It's amazing or they are just saying they love it to justify the price, either way it has my attention. Based on price I can only afford one, I know my wife will understand eating cup of noodles for the next month, but I can shake the want of a Scotty Cameron putter form my head. So, from your three putters which one do you recommend of being better all around. If you were on a plane and it was going down because of the weight and after throwing your wife out of the plane you still had to get rid of two putters, which one would you keep?

    Thanks

    Juan,

    I understand your dilemma. I bought two of my Scotty putters used. The Newport was in near mint condition at a fraction of the price. The GoLo was the only one I bought new. If you are unsure if you want to spend the money, look for a good used one like I did. If you were going to make me decide on just one Scotty, I would have to keep the Newport 2. That is the blade putter in the picture. I love the classic look of a blade putter over the mallet style. I do like the added alignment aid that the mallet style putters offer. I think the most important factor in choosing a putter is how it looks at address. If you feel confident when you stand over a 5 footer with said putter, you will hole more putts. Good luck in your decision. You can't go wrong with a Scotty Cameron putter!

    I have two regular gamers....a Super Rat and a 009. Both have the 1.5 Welded necks. The 1.5 neck suits me as I have a slightly arched stroke. I also rotate my SC headcover collection of which I have about 100 (CT's and OTR releases).

    Personally, I choose to own only two.  One Studio Newport 2 and a Newport 2 Notchback Select.  The Notchback is heavier and it is my primary putter.  I guess the answer to your question is, as many as you choose to afford.  I do not purchase clubs I do not use.  { I have one set of irons 5-PW, one extra driver (915D2 9.5 and 910D3 9.5) and one extra wedge (a 56.10 and a 56.08)......}. Right now I am trying to correct my technique and do not think another putter will correct that.  Besides our greens are in transition.
