I received a driver fitting for my 60th birthday. I had the fitting today and it was a very pleasant experience. After trying a host of driver heads and shaft combinations, this is what I ended up with:
- Titleist 915 D3
- 10.5º, A-1 setting, 0.5º open
- Diamana S+ 60 x5ct R-Flex
- 44.5 inches
- GP CP2 Pro Midsize
This is my first Titleist driver. Out of all the drivers I hit, this not only felt the most solid, but obviously produced the best numbers. The fitting was inside, but the balls were hit into a driver range so you could see the actual ball flight.
I went into the fitting with no particular product in mind. Just wanted to walk out with what worked best. I look forward to receiving it when the order is placed.
Last year I picked up the Scotty Cameron Dual Balance putter, which is terrific. This is the longest I have ever owned a putter (I have been playing 10 years).
So now my golf bag is anchored on one end by a Titleist driver and on the other by a Titleist putter.
