Recently got my first Titleist club (915h 21 degree) and I'm trying to set my gaping as I switch to 716 AP1 this fall. Wanting to carry no more then a 5 iron. What hybrid Lofts do most of you use in bridging hybrids to irons?

FWIW, I play AP2s with an AP1 5i as my strongest iron. Next club is 21* 816H1 hybrid. Then 915 5W and 3W.

    My 915h 21 replaces my 3i.
My Stock swing for the 21 gets me 210 to 220.
I can go longer with a little juice.

    I play the 716 ap1. I have 816 19* & 23*. It's pretty good gapping for me. I also stop at 5 iron.

For me, 21 degree hybrid replaces the 3 iron and 25 degree hybrid replaces the 4 iron.

I have a 19° and 23° (dialed in to D-1). For me those two fill the gap perfectly from 5I (26°) to 3W (16.5°). Being you have a 21° you may want to play with the Surefit settings to maybe A-4 or A-1 and a 23°. Remember you can only go stronger +2 and weaker -1. Hope something I said helps :)
  7. So first, your AP1 have slightly stronger lofts than the MB's so your question might be different from iron model to another.

However, I use the 23 for a 4/5 iron, 21 for 3/4 iron, 19 for a 2/3 iron .... you need to experiment and remember that SureFit Hosel can adjust even further!

    Good Luck!
  8. I play 5 iron then 21 and 19 degree hybrids. You can vary the hybrids loft to tweak yardage...works for me.

I use 19, 21 and 24 degree hybrids with 5-W first gen AP2's. The gaping seems to be fine with me. Sure is a lot easier to those than the 3 and 4 Iron. The 19 is like a 5 wood for me. Confidence is a good part of the game and if they give it to you then go with them.

Match your Hybrids to the loft of your irons you will be replacing.
    I play the 21* 915h instead of a 3 iron.
    Great club the 915h is!!!

I too start at the 5 iron with my 716 AP1s. Then a 816h 21*, 915h 18.0*, 915f 15.0*, 915D2 11.0*. Mine are set for distances and work well for me. The 15* fairway is the weakest and I plan on getting fitted for a 917 and hopefully a new shaft set up can increase my accuracy. (The thing about the 816s you can set them a full degree where the 915s you can only set them 3/4 of a degree.) Get fitted and try a number of the standard shafts. Titleist has some awesome offerings. The 816s are very accurate with the right shaft.

Just made a change in my set up this week. Changed to my older model 913h 23* and changed my 816h1 to a 18*. Took the 915h out of the bag. Wanted to try a different gap. Like a higher flight. Will see what happens.

    I too stop at a 5I AP1 and my hybrids are 913H 23 and a 915HD 20.5. I have found this to be a good gap.

Good point Chuck Z mine are as accurate as my irons I play 716 AP1's 5i-GW in the 816H1's I play a 21* as a 4 and the 19* as a 3 then 3W, Driver. Works well for me was what my fitter suggested.
