Changing to mid size grip

    Does changing from standard titelist grip on my new 915 d2 driver to a mid size multi compound grip radically impact club swing weight etc.

    IMO, not radically. I had oversized MCC grip and put a heavier (black) weight in the 915 D2 head. I have changed my driver back to regular grip with extra wraps but left the black weight in the head and have not noticed any difference.

    Negligible!!! I actually play Golf Pride midsize multi compound grips on all my clubs and love them!

    Not radically no. You likely won't even notice the weight change (unless you're super sensitive to those changes).

    Depending on the grip differences you're looking at about three points difference (10-12 grams in actual weight) on average. it really comes down to personal feel. I don't notice a difference between the two.

    It will change the swing weight, but I do not think you will notice the difference.

    You can pretty much get a grip now with different compounds that a mid-size would be the same weight as some standard size grips. If you are really concerned about your swingweight, take it to a PGA professional or authorized Titleist Dealer that works on clubs. They could check it before and after the change to keep it close to the same

    Radically? I would say no. I use midsize grips on all my clubs, and the only thing it does for me is confidence as I feel I can swing as I want to without gripping the club too tight so that it doesn't slip out of my hands. I don't find it heavier at all.

    I wouldn't think it would reduce the swingweight by more than 1 point.

    Thanks to all. I also use mid size grips on all my clubs as I feel it allows for lighter grip pressure. The change appears to be no big deal for recreational player. Again thanks for responses!

    I think it will be minimal. The mid-size MCC is 59g and the standard tour velvet is 50g.

    The difference in weight is neglible, somewhere around 8 grams difference. I switched from standard tour velvet to midsize tour velvet and the only difference I noticed was a tendency to miss to the right. My misses used to be left and now they are right. I think its because the larger grip takes my hands out of the swing a little bit. Not a big deal though.
