  1. Hey guys,

I am a massive fan of the Pro V1x and have been for several years now. I have seen a few pop ups of a CPO ball (Pro V1x+) and was wondering if anyone knows how to get hold of them to test and try? I do realise its a long shot and there isn't a guarantee that they will make it to retail but the only one that I have seen is on Ebay for £37 and its not even a brand new ball! I love the idea of the even higher launching and spinning + ball as I love a high ball flight and being able to stop chips super quickly! If anyone knows how I could get hold of some of the new White Box Proto V1x's too that would be great! Cheers

  2. I have been fortunate enough to play this ball and it is amazing...agreed! The + was released on tour before the new balls were released so there may be a good chance this ball is similar to one of the new balls...not sure on the accuracy but just speculation on my part.

Unless you are on tour or know JJ, the US tour rep, or one of the global tour reps, ....there is a low probability you can get these unfortunately.

That being said, I think one the senior leads on the Titleist Ball team told me recently that 99% of the global players can play PERFECTLY one of the retail balls including the majority if not the majority of pga tour pros. Rest assured that the tour players get the same balls that we do (ProV1, ProV1x etc...) off the shelves at our stores the only difference they do not pay for theirs! True a small few play a custom ball but I believe this is the exception not the norm from what I have told over the years. Furthermore, For Tour Use Only balls are many times retail balls from a couple generations ago (like the ProV1 from three years ago or ProV1x from six years ago) that are not made anymore for amateurs but some tour pros do not want to change so Titleist keeps some inventory around and sometimes (I believe) just rename them even though they were the same balls we all played a few years back. I do not think the Pro V1x+ is such a ball to your point though, it is a unicorn.

Phew, I hope all this information helps...don't stress about this ball... I would be willing to place money that one of the balls in the current retail lineup will play perfect for your game; IMHO

The good news is that Proto ProV1x's in the white boxes were dispersed all over the place a year ago or so...you shouldnt have much trouble finding them but afterall they are the exact same ball as the current ProV1x.

    Cheers!

Ball testing is relatively random, with an emphasis on profile completion and including your current preferred Titleist ball. The AVX white box this past year is the first time I’ve seen wide dissemination of a dozen. On the previous times I hit the lottery, it was 1-2 sleeves.
Apparently there have been some recipients of the X+ ball for testing. The left dot V is now available in limited amounts through direct ordering (at least in the USA).
The left dash X is now mainstream. The AVX has moved to Ball Plant 2 freeing up capacity at Ball Plant 3. Whether the left dot V or the right plus X become mainstream remains to be seen. Should the right dash become available I’d be curious to compare it to the X I use now.
