Not really trying for the pin just looking for the center of the green, I hit a high draw to a back left pin location into a hurting breeze from 142 yards with a smooth 8 iron. The pin was in the shadows so all i knew was it landed close. When we got to the green I thought the ball went off the back as the pitch mark was around 8 inches in front of the hole and the hole was only 3 steps from the back and my ball was not visible. Walking the back edge of the green looking for the ball I saw nothing, I peeked in the cup just in case before looking in the shrubs behind the green there she was at the bottom of the cup. I just sort of stood there in astonishment and said "its in the hole" to my playing partner who was getting ready to pitch onto the green. What an amazing day that was 40 years in the making.
