A day I will never forget. I had come close to a hole in one on several occasions landing within inches of the hole and one time the ball barley lipped out. I thought that was my one chance and it missed and that I would never get that close again. Then on a pleasant Friday morning I was playing my home course, the Ranches Golf Club in Eagle Mountain UT when on hole 16 I hit a perfect 9 iron shot directly at the pin. I couldn’t see where the ball landed but I heard it hit the pin. I didn’t see the ball ricochet off the flag though and I didn’t see my ball anywhere on the green. Thinking it must have shot off the green after hitting the pin I looked around but couldn’t find it anywhere. Finally I decided to check the hole and there it was at the bottom of the cup! I couldn’t believe it! I must have slam dunked it in!
