Did you know? If the inner core of a dual core golf ball is just 40/1000 of an inch off-center (the thickness of a credit card), shot dispersion can double. That’s why our golf ball scientists and technicians run countless quality checks to keep a close eye on every single ball we put the Titleist script on.

Our exacting standards and tight manufacturing tolerances are designed to ensure concentricity (when two circles have the same center) in our dual core golf balls. The end result is more consistent performance from golf ball to golf ball for your game.

Check out the video above to get the full story.

We are not machines, so no two swings are exactly the same. Having equipment that helps us to play more consistently is extremely important. Precision matters!

I knew the video of how Titleist started and x-raying the ball. Never even thought about the duel core.

And the quality just goes on and on.
  8. Very interesting indeed......but given the build quality of the Titleist golf ball family, there is no way I can blame my misses on those in my bag. I own those poor shots, not Titleist.....
  9. Interesting.......looking forward to taking the plant tour when it re-opens
  10. And that is when the ball is hit by a machine. Imagine how much the variation is when a ball is hit by a highly varying human swing ... like mine.
  11. What happens to the center after we hit the ball. Will it be off center? 40/1000 is quite fragile after being hit with a golf club, I know my brain is about the same.

That’s why we don’t play Callys! Lol

On U-tubes by Adam MyGolf Spy, some of the ball cores they cut could have been measured off center with a yard stick. With more than +/- 20 yards dispersion during ball testing with no other reason they suspected something and those balls did change the ball as we know it. ...Badly.

Very interesting. Had no idea that small a defect would have that much effect. Makes me wonder how much a scuff on the surface of the ball affects the flight. Any ideas?

This is a great representation of the high quality checks that are performed on the Titleist balls!
I can imagine how much worse my scores would be without good technology! LOL
Thank you Mike for the clips to keep us enthused!

"Was that me, or my golf ball?" What a great question...on some of my shots there is no doubt it's me for sure!
  17. I think that I read in the Dave Pelz Putting Bible that his research showed that a Center of Gravity off by only .02" would cause a 9 foot putt to miss the hole on a flat putt - what is the actual tolerance of the ProV1's?
