Kind of cool. My first HIO was in from our championship tees in May, 2001, 181 yards with a 4 iron, hole number 8. My second was from the white tees, hole 11, 130 yards , nine iron, May, 2012. The last two were from our senior tees; hole four, 125 yards, 8 iron, December, 2115, and hole 11 (renovated course) , January 2021, 138 yards, hit a six iron into a two club wind, hitting into a reverse redan and it rolled back downhill. The yardage lost with age. [/quote] Totally agree, I’m 73, have a driver swing speed in the low 80’s, and normally hit a low draw. I’ll fell for all that marketing hype and “ friendly” advice that I needed to play a softer compression ball. From experience with a softer “senior/beginner” ball I found no difference in yardage and actually feel that I lost a bit of yardage off the driver. Secondly my flight was lower, I couldn’t hold greens with approach shots, and my green side game suffered along with my putting. So in my particular case, the ProV1X is still the best choice based upon my personal results. So for a ball that’s not advised for my swing speed nor my senior years, I see no drop off in yardage, improved trajectory/spin with approach shots, great wedge/green side control, and better feel/distance control with my putting.
