I was playing the back nine, white tees, with an older friend of mine. I've been hitting my Titleist AP1 irons quite well lately without the benefit of a tee on tee shots. I placed my Titleist Velocity ball on the ground, took my stance and hit a very high shot with my Pitching wedge. I saw the ball hit the green, take a bounce to the right and hit the pin. I was unable to see the bottom of the pin and wasn't aware the ball had gone in until approaching and not seeing the ball on or near the green. Quite a surprise for this 69+ year old lifetime golfer. I began playing while caddieing on this same course back in the early 1950's. I've had several close shots over the years including one for a new car. Fortunately our club is a dry club and it only cost me three sodas.
