Day three of our golfing road trip

Four good friends -- Frank, Joe, Ron and Greg--from the Bel Air Golf Group (BAGG) take an annual Fall trip to play courses on Maryland's eastern shore. This year's trip was titled the "Ocean City Grand Slam Championship" as a way to conclude our year of golfing fun. We try to play courses new to us. Day 3 was the best weather overall and our final course on the return trip home. This course gives names to each hole. Hole #4 is "Tilghman Beach".

On par 3's we have a small wager for the tee shot on the green closet to the hole that results in par or less. Joe lead off with a nice shot a few feet from the hole. He was already anticipating the victory. Frank and Ron followed, but Joe's shot was still the best. Greg's shot was high and straight at the flag stick. It appeared to roll out of sight. Joe suggested it rolled into a depression on the green or maybe into the hole. Frank and Ron weren't sure because of the shadows. Greg assumed it rolled off the back of the small green. As we approached the green, the ball wasn't visible. Probably in the back fringe as Greg suspected. Joe walked over the the hole, looked in and said "it's in the cup". The celebration began. None of us ever had or witnessed a hole-in-one in person. Now, we can say we were all there! Thanks Frank, Joe and Ron for a fun time.
