What’s better to bag? A 5 wood or a 3 hybrid? I can’t decide which one would be better to have in the bag. I do have a 4 hybrid, I feel I need something between my 3 wood (15 degrees)and 4 hybrid (21 degrees).

  2. Try some different options and see what feels right

My thinking is that you need to answer 2 questions: 1 - what is the yardage gap between your 3 wood and 4 hybrid; and then 2 - whatever that number is, do you (regularly) have a need to hit that specific yardage, like on a long par 3 on a course you play often?

If so, then I suggest you find a fitter (or a Titleist demo/fitting day) and try out a 19 or 21 degree hybrid (or a 5 wood) and see what suits you best; the fitter will also be able to recommend shaft options and any alterations that may have to be done. Good luck!

Like Coke or Pepsi, it's a personal choice. Some folks like the extra height and forgiveness of fairway woods and others prefer the versatility of a hybrid. Others go with the utility iron. There is nothing wrong with owning both either, and just swapping out between the two based on which course you are playing and course conditions that day. Which ever you decide to use, having that gap filled will be good for you. Cheers.

If you like your hybrid, go with a lower lofted 18deg. I you prefer your 3 wood, go with 5 wood. Alternatively try adding a 3 iron driving/ utility iron.

What are you looking for with a new club as that will dictate your final choice
  7. A lot of this advice is great!

I went and got fit for the gap I was trying fill in my bag and ended up hitting the 5w better then the hybrid! with a fitting like this really pay attention to the types of shots you typically would hit for the courses that you typically play.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will definitely go and see about getting fitted. I never thought about a driving iron (3) will have to try that out also

5W fills that spot in my bag.
