Bought a dozen high yellow and it Felt so good when I smashed my drives but didn’t seem to go as far as my Pro-V1x and because it’s longer and better spin into the green I’m sticking with Pro-V1x. I do think it is the best ball Titleist makes not named Pro-V1x though!

I only had the opportunity to play a few holes with it before the weather got bad here in PA. I voted for the soft feel because I spent quite a bit of time on the putting green with one. Compared to the V it was much softer feel off of my Scotty 6M. The few full shots I hit with it it “seemed” to be longer off the driver. I got my hands on a full dozen and am chomping at the bit to give them the full test when the weather breaks here in PA.

Hole-in-one on December 3, 2017, only my second round to play them one week after I picked up a dozen. Hard to knock those results.
  6. Congrats on the hole in one!!!

You know the folks at Titleist will do something special for you. (I think)
  7. I live in Florida, near Boca Raton. I have not tried them yet. I spent $2000 recently on Titleist products. No money left in golf budget. Send me some like M. Crossfield, I already do enough free promotion with staff bag & visors. lol.

Played a few rounds with the ball. Great overall control and distance.

I tried them in Florida and noticed they were longer with my irons. But still I don't like them as much as my pro v1. Nothing is more consistent than the pro v1 golf ball
  10. Just curious if these have a more rubber ball bouncing feeling? I don't like that feeling is why I'm asking. I received a new Bridgestone's in the mail and they had that extra distance but at a cost of feeling. I like the Pro V1 solid but soft feeling but would love a lower ball flight without the heavy rubber ball feeling.

I'm thinking with the limited amount of play with this ball that it maybe a little longer with all my clubs. Confusing the situation is that I've played the ProV1 after years of not really liking it and the new version, including durability, is a vast improvement over previous years. I think the ProV1 and AVX for my skill level are pretty darn close.

More Testing needed, I don't think I can give up on my ProV1.
I picked up some in Florida in December, but now they are available in Michigan.
I was intrigued and confused, with the inception of the Tour Soft, what is the AVX?

Tour Soft (NXT Replacement) is a 2 piece non-urethane ball. The AVX is a 3 piece urethane cover. If I find a ball fitting in my area, I'd love to compare these 2 with a Pro-V1. I consider the AVX to be the V option in yellow. I don't driver very far, butI can out drive how far I can follow a white ball.

Alternative to the V and the X....

CORE - An innovative, high speed, low compression core results in a powerful engine to drive remarkable distance with exceptionally soft feel.

COVER - A proprietary GRN41 urethane cover delivers premium scoring control with exceptionally soft feel and long-lasting durability.

CASING LAYER - The high flex casing layer enhances speed and controls spin to promote even greater distance.

AERODYNAMICS - Unique 352 Tetrahedral Catenary Dimple design delivers optimal flight consistency on all shots.

I played 1 round with them here in Ohio, subpar conditions a few weeks ago - 50 degrees, wet, and windy. I did vote that they did seem to be longer off of the irons, and they were definitely softer than my usual ProV1, even in the "cooler" temps that I was trying to play in. The true playing test will happen April 1st when I fly to Phoenix and play them at the proper temperatures for them AND me! Lol!

Played while in Fla. Loved the soft feel and added distance on irons. Waiting for Long Island to warm up to play here....

I felt that I was able to move the ball either way a bit easier than ProV.

I also noticed a difference while putting. I thought it felt a bit softer coming off the face

I played a few of them during my trip to Streamsong and have to admit it felt like I was playing with a ProV1 before I lost it. Didn't really pay attention to the ball flight or spins around the greens, just know it felt like a ProV1 all around. I have 2 more sleeves and can't wait to try them again once the snow clears out in New England...

It would be great if the AVX was available to all of us. After all the dollars I spend on Titleist, I feel left out!
Am I the only one who feels this way?

Duane, not sure where you live but the AVX is available for purchase at my local golf store in NH.

Not sure how widespread they have been tested outside of the original 3 states. I've been to 1 course in NC, FL, 2 in W, and one specialty store in WII since WI entered the "almost winter" season. All have had them on display.

I voted for optic yellow but I'm in because of the distance with irons. I have stockpiled enough for this year as a result.

I only played the yellow version because I was looking for a premium Titleist ball that I could see better. I experienced a little more distance with my irons probably due to the slightly lower trajectory. Spin was less than ProV1 and I wasn’t fond of the different feel off my putter. Overall, there is still not a ball on the planet better that the ProV1 for me.

I've been a longtime user of the ProV1x and love the ball. I was given a few AVX to try and love the distance gain with my irons. I don't particularly love the feel off my driver. Each time I've played a round with AVX I've scored very well. My 2nd round with the AVX I had a hole-in-one and 5 birdies for a 68. Love the ProV1x but I can't argue with results and ultimately the game is all about scoring.

Darn....now I have to adjust my club distances! I have been playing the ProV-1, which I liked very much. At a recent Titleist club fitting in Satasota FL the fitter, after adjusting my metal woods asked if I had tried the AVX, I said no and he said I might like them since my driver swing speed was 78 mph. Well I bought a sleeve of three figuring how can they compare to my ProV-1. Well they are about one club longer, they roll out nice off the driver and after hitting the green they roll out a bit less than the ProV-1. The feel off the Scotty is great, just a "tick" sound. Went and bought a dozen before the shop ran out! Hope I can get the 4 for 3 deal up north in May.

I played six rounds with AVX in California. The extra distance with my 4-7 irons was a pleasant surprise. I liked the feel when putting better than the NXT and the new Tour Soft. These would definitely be my 2018 ball of choice if made available.
