  1. Just curious, does anyone else hate to mark/customize their ball? Obviously a necessary part of the game but I hate marking on my ball. I don't like to personalize it with sayings or draw pictures etc. I'm sure it's my OCD coming into play but I'm just not a fan... Anyone else feel this way? What's your go to ball marking?

I feel you to the core man! I dont like it either. When i look down i dont want to see anything. If your gonna play in competitions or things of the sort you're gonna need to have a mark though. I have hid my mark by making a dot inside the top of the T. seems to blend in seamlessly enough for me!
  3. Thanks Eric! I might have to copy that idea! Play well!

Two dots and a bar, not that too distracting. Sometimes I get a personalized ball with a cz on it. I normally play high number golf balls which most do not play. That also makes it easier to find in the fairway.
  5. I used to mark my ball with two black dots on either side of the numbers. Now it's just one red dot on the right hand side of the number. Only time I will do any type of customization is when I order 4 dozen and it comes for free. Then it's just a simple AMK - my initials.

Like Eric, I can't stand the much of anything on my ball. I will even toss a found ball back if it has too much writing on it.

I used to do a dot in a particular spot to differentiate mine but now I just order my ProV1 with a special play number.

Count me as a member of this club. Play double digit balls w/o any added markings when I have them. Only marking i add is a yellow sharpe strip on the alignment band. Yellow doesn't seem to be as permanent as darker colors. Balls i find with markings go in the shag bag.
  8. Just a little FYI. Rubbing alcohol removes permanent marker from golf balls.

I’ll either personalize with my initials or use 2 dots. I find logos or hand drawn art distracting.
  10. Just curious...when ordering personalized (either just custom number, all one play number, or stamping) from Titleist, are all Pro V1 balls from the USA plant (plant 3). Or does Titleist also ship custom-stamped/personalized balls manufactured in Thailand?

I'm in the minority here as I order them with a certain number and four letters of haiku... and even so, I still put a mark.

One single dot, smaller than a dimple, directly under the number.

One red dot covering a dimple over the last T in Titleist. Marks don't bother me none! However drawings or doodling I do dislike...

sigh One golfer in a group I joined called me out for not marking my ball (#50 with a personalized side stamp). You can't fix stupid, so I "dot the I" with a green dot regardless of the ball number. I shoot for the first eye but will also try to use a dimple that may hover over the second.

Not sure if marking or personalizing his ball would have helped Russell Henly, who was penalized 8 strokes for playing a different model of PROv1 on the last 4 holes of his round , than he started the round with.

I would guess with a ton of confidence that he did have it marked. Tournament players always have their ball marked. In this case he probably would have been better off had it not been marked! My guess is that its the time of year where new equipment is being tested and experimented with and he may have had a ball he was trying out. Mixed them up at the wrong time. Tough break for him, but rules are rules! Good on him for calling the rule upon himself
  17. Nope I love a custom ball and I like a standard ball to be mine with a marking of my choice.

I found a ProV1 yesterday and the ball had the Titleist part blacked out. I had never seen that before!

1 blue dot next to the number on 1 side of the ball only. DJM is what I have customized on the ball in blue. I only play #1 which helps too because if it has any other number it's not mine.

I simply use a black Sharpie and put one black dot over the “T” in Titleist. Bern doing that for many years.

While I generally prefer a clean ball, the past two years with the Loyalty Rewarded program, I've had the following personalization: 'FOUND BALLS' 'EVENTUALLY BECOME' 'LOST AGAIN' and this year 'PARS R GOOD' 'BIRDIES R BETTER'. Gets some laughs at the first tee when showing to fellow competitors/opponents!

And, a blue dot to the bottom left with a red dot to the lower right of the high number, plus a black line at the 'top' of the staggered wave parting ('seam') line, always!
