I saw an article this morning on GolfWRX that included pictures of the new, custom, Pro V1X+. The article quoted a Titleist rep stating it is a custom request by some pros for an even higher spinning Pro V1X. The article stated Horschel and Piercy were playing it with postive results, as well as several on the LPGA. Not sure if we can link to articles on other sites, so I'm not including the link here, but if you ever go to GolfWRX, you'll be able to find it. It will be interesting to see how it does on the tours, and whether Titleist decides to make it a commercial option similar to the dash.

  2. Sounds exciting and very interesting

Like anything else, there will have been a known market for such a product as well as it being cost-effective.
Sounds like this level of dialing in a ball's characteristics is something for professionals.

I for one would love to test some ProV1x+ as I need as much spin as I can get. As long as it does not create too much driver spin for me, a little more height and spin on irons and pitches would be great.
  7. Very interesting

Going to be interesting what the R&D team came up with, with this CPO option.

Like Dale, wouldn’t mind to test these if that is a possibility.

Perhaps a slightly softer cover for better spin around the green and with irons but the same or firmer core to help the driver.

Will have to wait and see. Been a X player for a while as I am historically Low Launch, Low Spin.
  9. I would also like a Pro V1x softer version. One with a compression similar to the TP5x ball.

I like the play characteristics of the X but it’s just too clicky for me around the greens and especially with my putter.

The ProV1X is around 97-100 and the TP5x is around 90.

The sales reps have their sales meeting in June and if this is indeed something to be released to the public, we most likely will know after that. Just speculating, but might be like the Prov1 left dot, in the system but currently not available to us mere mortals. Wait and see. The demands for the new releases (Prov1 and Prov1x) are currently overwhelming.
  11. With so many of my shots being vertically challenged, this ball sounds very interesting.

I was at the ball plant yesterday and saw them in production. PROV 1X RIGHT +. No details on expectations. Always like seeing Titleist's innovation.
  13. They do exist. I have a dozen of them currently and will be trying them out today.

Maybe they will be an optional choice at the next TT event. I easily have a 2 year supply of 2021/2023 X balls as well as various versions of the V. Just had all my metal woods adjusted to the 2023 X. Not anxious to fall in love with yet another Titleist release.

The V’s get used into strong headwinds. The lower flight doesn’t get blown back as much. That limited supply may last a long time.

Anyone know if there are any pros using the plus model, yet? Would love to know who the target audience is.

I'm with Dale, I believe. Getting a higher flight and a bit more spin is probably good for my game, but I don't know at what point I would see diminishing returns. Guess that means a side-by-side play round!

Oh, what about the Pro V1 * (star) ball??? It's another tour ball with slightly higher spin than the Pro V1. I would guess this would mean a slightly higher ball flight as well!
  16. So will these be available to the public? I really enjoy playing the pro V1x and would like compare them side by side.

I really love the fact Titleist listen well and try to make stuff that isn’t out there yet.

I have good results with X, but would be interested in testing X+ balls.
