    Hi All,

Recently joined TT and also just purchased a new 2020 Players 4 Stand Bag in the Blue/Black colour way.

Bag looks great but having trouble trying to figure out how best to configure my clubs. The top divider is a little unusual in how it kind of tapers and with the shape I'm having trouble fitting all my clubs.

    Planned set up is: Top - Dr/3/2i or Hybrid/Putter/Alignment Sticks Middle L - 4/5/6 Middle R - 7/8/9 Bottom - P/50/55/60

Anyone with similar experience or advice on fitting full 14x clubs? I can get them all in but it's a tight squeeze so any other ideas on configurations to optimise space would be great!

    Cheers!

I have a 2020 Players 4 and have the same issue. Your planned setup is what I use and it's a really tight squeeze for the putter in the top well. I play normal grips, carry 14 clubs and it's a challenge to fit the putter, Driver, 3W, Hybrid in the top. When putting the putter back in it takes some wiggling to get it all the way in. Plus you have the potential for the headcover to fall off. Contemplating swapping it out for the Hybrid 5 bag this season.

I have a 2019 Players 4+ and 14 clubs is a tight fit. My configuration differs from both of yours and varies depending on the weather and course I'm playing. I go with Dr/3W/putter in the top, middle L is 5/6/7 or 6/7/8, middle R is Hybrids (2) or 5W/Hybrid and bottom is either 8/9/P/GW/GW/SW or 9/P/GW/GW/SW (my two GWs are different lofts). I also have a 2018 Players 5 and fitting 14 clubs in is much easier and getting clubs in/out of the bag is easy.

I always liked smaller lighter bags, and struggled with the same issue for years. Then my golf buddies told me to flip the clubs around and put the grip end in first. Big improvement. I think I shaved 2.4 strokes off my average. Thank god for golf buddies!
Seriously it's a trade off for wanting a light carry bag. I have mid size grips so it gets a little tight in there, but I make it work. Then my wife buys me one of those driver head mini beer kegs for Christmas. No way that's gonna fit!!! To show my deepest appreciation I take it to the course but leave it in the car til after the round. I look like a dork chugging from it in the parking lot, but it makes my wife happy knowing she is contributing to my game.

I go Driver, 3 Wood, Alignment Sticks in the top, 4 and 4 in the middle sections, and 3 wedges and putter in the lower. Works well for me. I often walk with just 12 clubs and in those instances I go 3 and 3 in the middle.

I have last years Players 4 and put Driver, 3W and putter in the top. Middle left is 19* hybrid, 23* hybrid, 27* hybrid and middle right is 6, 7, 8 and 9 irons. Lower are my 4 wedges. It really comes down to what works best for you when you're out on the course.

Thanks for the input guys, such a hard one. I'm already kind of thinking of switching but really like how light and compact the bag is, it's the ideal carry bag but I don't really want to drop down to 12clubs which I guess might make the most sense for the size. It's weird as I have an Ogio bag that's in a McKenzie/Jones style and it is much smaller but no such issues on fit with its single divider! But as noted by Chris, I'll give it a go as maybe the club wiggles might not be so bad on course. No golf in Ireland until April 26th so having been shut since December so want to give it a chance before considering replacing!

    Ronan,

One thing Dale previously recommended to me on another thread was to stand the bag back upright before adding the club back in and that has helped.

It is mostly due to the fact that the grip space at the bottom gets squeezed when the legs are out.

Best of luck with making it work as a light bag has encouraged me to walk a ton more than before.

My setup is like many on here and also has standard grips. I don't carry any alignment sticks, whip, etc.:

    Top - Driver, u500, putter
    Mid L - 4, 5, 6
    Mid R - 7, 8, 9
    Bottom - 47*, 52*, 56*, 60*

Late to the party- I also have a new Players 4.
I've had it on a cart for three rounds, and also had it on a push cart for three rounds, but have not had a chance to carry.
For some reason, even though the Players 4 top cuff is smaller than my previous bag, I had no issue with placing and taking clubs from it while it is strap upright on a riding cart. My grips are standard.
However, when I had it on a push cart, as it lays on an angle, it grabs and rub grips with others. Not a big deal, but it was a slight more effort to get and place clubs in a few times.

    D, 3w, 5w, 4H, P (each one have a head cover except the 4hybrid.)
    7, 6, 5 - Pw, 9, 8
    58, 54, 50

My putter is a mallet. Surprisingly, it is ok with the woods.
I've had the putter with the wedges, but the wedge heads sometimes gets in the way when I'm only needing to pull out a putter.

I could probably adjust and go H4, 5, & 6... and have the Pw along with the other wedges, but I'm so used to Pw, 9, & 8 set up.
  11. I would recommend carrying only 11 clubs....everything fits great with 11 clubs

I have a players 4-plus. When I walk I only carry 12 clubs. In the top Driver, 5 wood, putter. Middle R 4,5,6. Middle L 7,8,9. Bottom PW, GW, SW. When I ride, I add a 3 wood at the top and a 58 degree wedge at the bottom.

So update to the thread, as Nate B mentioned when the bag is upright (or in a cart as No'l has his), no issue it's more the kick stand mechanism which was the issue I believe. Eventually settled on:

    D/3W/Hy/Putter
    4/5/6/7/8/9
    W/50/54/58

Once I got used to things being a little more snug I really loved the bag to the point I upgraded to the 2021/22 model in the Navy/Yellow colour way!!!

Glad to hear. I have several of the Players 4 Carbons as I love the graphite legs. They don't get bent by rough baggage handlers like the aluminum legs do. Enjoy your navy/yellow bag. Stay safe and hit'm straight!

My two sons both use the Players 4, and a full set of clubs do fit rather tight. But they both like the fact that the clubs don’t bounce around and won’t fall out.

Both place D, 3W, 5W and Putter in the top well. 7W or U505, 5 and 6 in the left well and 7, 8 and 9 in the right well. PW, AW, 54 and 58 wedges in the bottom well. I use a similar set up but use the Stars and Stripes Players 4 Plus Stand Bag.
