I know its been talked about ..... but I need some opinions. I'm gaming the new T200s with UST Recoil 95F4 graphite shafts. D3 swingweight. I'm going to get new Vokeys and wonder about going to graphite.

If I do that, what is the traditional thinking? Do you go up in weight? That would put me in the 110s. Do you get the PW shaft? I've heard Tiger say an 8 iron shaft cut down is "wedge flex".

I'm just wanting the a more similar feel, weight, and proper wedge swingweight to blend with the irons.

You simply have to hit the clubs. Graphite is so different in feel.

Yes, you need to swing them. Nelly Korda uses i 95 steel fiber shafts in her Irons and 115s in her wedges. I use all graphite in my T300 set and wedges (Tensei AV 2 blue)with the exception of my 48 F grind Vokey. I have a 75 gram Graphite Design wedge shaft in that and I like it a lot.

Before they made wedge shafts, they just used 9 iron shafts and cut to length. Using a 8 iron shaft in a wedge will give you more spin and some distance, but I have not seen a lot of amateurs do this.
  4. I play Recoil 95 F4's in JPX900 forged irons and when changing wedges about 2 years ago ordered the same shaft from Titleist in SM7's 50F, 54M, 58K. When they arrived they were fine/good for full shots but the heads felt far too heavy for half or touch shots and impossible (for me) to control touch shots. I cannot get wedge fittings with graphite shafts from Titleist. I had the wedges rebuilt by a specialist who took weight out of the heads and while that did improve the balance and feel for me they are still not as I would like. I like the Voleys and would like to update them but the challenge is what shaft to use... whether to back to steel, even light weight steel shafts or heavier, maybe 110 Recoil shafts.
