Just wondering why there is a small oval within the wear spot on my 718 AP2’s. See pic it appears on my 7 - GW. I know the clubs are well worn but not uniformly. Any help is appreciated!

Those marks are by aliens from another far off planet. Think crop circles!!!

Looks like someone tried to clean them. The "wear" is essentially the exposure of bare steel, which then rusts when exposed to the elements. Cleaning bare metal will give it that silver color again for a short time.

Appears to be weld marks from weight adjustments that would have been done in the manufacturing process. just rusts differently than the steel face where your chrome has worn off. It should not affect play in any way but if it bothers you, either have the clubs re-chromed or keep the face rust off with steel wool.

Thanks Dale. It kinda helps me focus on where the sweetspot is. Don’t really want to mess with what is working! Appreciate your reply!
