  1. I had an amazing set of titleist ap1 irons. I went to golf galaxy to test some new stuff out. The fitter there talked me into the new cobra forged tec for some forgiveness. Before I ordered I called cobra direct to ask about shafts. He told me to go with the kbs tour s+. So when golf galaxy placed the order the tour s+ wasn’t on their options, so the fitter and golf galaxy said no worries. He would call and change it once the order goes through. He called me a few days later and said all good. Your order is in stock and we made everything work. So the irons show up a few weeks later and they have the kbs tour s model shafts. They are too weak for me. So I went back to golf galaxy and they said I could return them but my old clubs are gone. They are not willing to work with me at all. So now I’m stuck with $1400 paper weights. What do you guys recommend I do? Please. I’m at a loss here and am stuck with clubs I honestly can’t use.

I would think that if Golf Galaxy is agreeing to take them back, you should be able to get a store credit. You can then either find some used AP1's at some place like 2ndSwing.com or get fitted for a new set of T300's (basically the upgraded version of the old AP1) with a stiffer shaft and have them apply your store credit to the new set. Good luck. Hope it works out for you.

Sounds to me like this is their error and they should make it good. I'd seek to have them order the correct shafts and then change them out at their expense.
  4. Call the corporate if you haven’t! If you haven’t gamed them i don’t see why they wouldn’t be willing to swap that shafts based off one of their employees being misleading. Hope you get it figured out and don’t have to come out of pocket for some new shafts!

I’ll never buy anything more technical than gloves or balls from a big retailer, ever again. Cobra should be willing to make it right.
Some other retailers will offer a full refund trial within 30 days. That may only be for off the rack items. Can you find a GG DM? Maybe the next level has more latitude.

First lesson, don’t buy from a big box store like golf galaxy.

Second, you let them talk you into a set of cobras.

Third, you wrote that they are willing to let you return them. So how is that them not willing to work with you at all? If you are able to return them, then how are you stuck with paper weights?

If I were you, I’d return them and get a full refund, plus a credit for the clubs you “traded in.” I would then go to a reputable certified Titleist fitter and get fitted for the T-300 or 200 since you loved your AP1’s. If you are without clubs while waiting for your new set to come, maybe you can borrow or rent a set. Whenever I upgrade to a new set and trade in my old one, my pro shop lets me keep my old clubs until the new ones come in. They would never leave me without clubs. That’s one of the many advantages of not working with a big box store.

Best of luck to you, I really hope it works out and you are happy with whatever you decide on. Keep us updated.

Copied this off their website regarding their refund policy and based on their own policy, regarding you received the wrong item, it would seem you would be entitled to a refund. I would check with the General Manager of the store, if not satisfied, then their District Manager, reminding them of their company policy.

    Refunds
Your satisfaction is our #1 priority. Therefore, you can request a refund or reshipment for ordered products if:

    - you do not receive them within the guaranteed time (45 days not including 2-5 day processing)
    - "you receive the wrong item"
    - you do not want the product you have received (but you must return the item at your expense and the item must be unused)

We do not issue the refund if:

    - your order does not arrive due to factors within your control (e.g. providing the wrong shipping address)
    - your order does not arrive due to exceptional circumstances outside our control (e.g. not cleared by customs, delayed by a natural disaster).

*You can submit refund requests within 15 days after the guaranteed period for delivery (45 days) has expired. You can do it by sending a message on Contact Us page.

Sounds like they get an "F" for customer service and order fulfillment. You're dealing with 3 components; head, shaft, grip. Once you get the lie and loft correct, it shouldn't be that difficult.

Hope everything works out for you.
  9. Sorry for you. This Golf Galaxy is really bad on their services.
