If you look at the Instagram of Justin Thomas, he posted pictures of an MB prototype last year. The prototype is an MB iron with tungsten weight plugs in it to increase forgiveness.

Does this mean the new MBs will be incorporating some of the technology from the T-MB iron heads?

I doubt it, as the T-MB is a hollow body head. At most they would put tungsten weights/screws in the toe to move the sweet spot closer to middle, away from the hosel as other companies like png and cally do.

Still love the MB's, but even as a scratch player for years, my fitter tells me the truth. I'm not precise enough from 7 on down. He's right. They sure are pretty though!

So do you game a mixed bag now? 8-P as MB’s then 4-7 as something else?

I love my 620mb's. I would be curious to see if they make any changes in these. One of my buddies has a set of 690.mb's and holding the two side by side there is very little difference in them.

I am very curious to see the new MB.
The 620 mb had such excellent reviews and I do not know how they could improve them.
There is so much to do with a muscle back forged club.
    But Titleist could surprise us.
I remembered the 680 mb ( which was my favorite) that I was playing, and after the 714 mb and 718 mb.
I do not know which forging facilities they are using, but I am pretty sure it is a well recognize forging company, probably in Asia. This information is kept confidential.
We will see later this year.

Years ago it was a bit of a status symbol to play a MB iron. Now? Unless you are Top 20 in the world, you are almost at a disservice.

While they are very pretty to look at and when you make center contact (the sweet spot of a dime) the feel is incomparable, what happens when you don't get it right?

You go up and down the range of a PGA Tour event and more and more are going to clubs like T100. Yes, there are mixed sets of MB's in the 8-W but more and more touring pros are going to move forgiving heads. Besides the new T100 feels and looks like a blade but had the forgiveness of a CB.

I fall in the boat of trying to make the game easier on myself. Can I hit blades? Yes, and pretty well but my misses are not as playable as they are with T100s.

But there is something visually appealing to a clean looking MB. Just hard to play consistently well anymore.

  14. I have a fitting with Titleist coming up to build my combo set. I am very excited to see how these feel and compare.

I encourage anyone to play what they want, including blades. After all, it's a game. Rock on!
