I’m 70 years old and have been playing golf most of my life. I’m a 14 handicap and have never had a hole in one. I’m actually playing as good of golf as I’ve ever played. On this day it was a friends birthday that I was playing with and when we reached the 17th hole, a short 107 yard par 3, said to him “knock it in for your birthday”. He landed on the green but not near the hole. Because our course buys everyone a free drink on the day that someone gets a hole in one I said before I hit that it I needed to get a hole in one so I wouldn’t have to buy him a birthday drink. Well low and behold I stuck one that hit about six inches from the hole and spun right in. Drinks on me.
