Spend the money and get a Club Glove... I'd advise against black as that's the most popular, I got burgundy and it's easily spotted at baggage claim.

Todd's right. Club Glove can't be beat. I've been using the same one now for more than 10 years. Two trip to Ireland and many domestic trips and it still looks and works great.

Thanks for your input Todd T, is there a specific club glove bag that you recommend. i have a small stand/carry bag (titleist lightweight) so i dont want to get anything that so big that my bag has room to bounce around in.
Thanks,
Billy

When I was looking, everyone advised me to get the Last Bag from Club Glove. I haven't picked one up yet, but many people have had a lot of great things to say about it with little to no negatives.

You haven't heard negatives about the CG bag because there aren't any. I have had one since 1999, and it works as well as day one. Many, many miles and never a problem. Guess the only thing I can say that is remotely negative is when it is empty and folded in half I have have scraped my leg on the plasti ;).
CG's The Last Bag.... True a hard sided case will protect more.... But you'll regret lugging that beast around and getting it in your car.. A properly packed CG will get the job done, even easier now with heads that screw off nowadays..

I'm with Todd. I've used the hard sided case for years and it has provided bulletproof service. I just have grown tired of trying to get the dang thing to fit in rental cars. At least with the CG you can remove your own bag, fold up the CG and play around with storage options..
I'm been lusting after the Club Glove for a couple of years and finally ordered one.
BTW, I always travel with my sunday bag. The reduction in size and weight frees up space in the travel bag for other gear.

I've got an Ogio Straight Jacket. Solid protection at the top and I'm able to pack the rest of my clothes around the bag to give it added protection.

Spend the money and hit a hard shell. The airlines will not accept responsibility for damage to clubs, skiis, etc. if you chose, you can ship your clubs ahead with the hard shell case and not worry about damage or hassling with them through airports. Can't say that with confidence with the soft cases.
Hard shells work fine if you stay put in one location, but they take up an enormous amount of room if you're lucky enough to br driving from golf course to golf course in Ireland or Scotland. That's why I settled on Club Glove (together with the mandatory stiff arm to protect your driver from getting slammed).
Thanks. J.A.C.

Billy-
totally agree with Todd, club glove and a stiff arm all the way. Human nature wants us to cut corners but you've seen how The airports treat your clubs...you need the protection! Also I always take my 913 now 915 driver apart when I pack it as an added measure. Good luck.

I currently have the club glove, burst proof bag and it has been great for the trips i've taken it on.

Club Glove all the way. I agree with the gentleman who suggested non-black. I have green and it always stands out at baggage claim. The bag is outstanding and typically you can throw some extra stuff in there. It's been world class for me!!

William,
I definitely agree with the majority of posts . . . Club Glove with a Stiff Arm is the way to go. When I travel, I use my Titleist carry bag and it fits well/snug in my blue CG Burstproof. I have had it a few years and has held up very well while providing excellent protection. Good luck and have safe travels!
I've had clubs/ graphite shafts nicked one time and it was because of the TSA bafoons that didn't properly repack them after inspection.

Joe L replied to Re: Golf Travel bag in General. Definitely have to get a Hard shell travel bag. I have one and it is a Beast...nothing will ever, ever hurt your clubs in one of these. Spend the money once and get a Club Glove, you won't be sorry. I've been dragging mine around for over 10 years now and it still looks great. I have never had a problem with any thing I have put in there. Get a good TSA lock to go with it.
Good Luck
James
