What, if any, competitions do you play?  For example, I play in our season-long single match play every year. And my best friend comes from California every year to play in my club's member-guest. If work permits I'd also like to play either the team match play or our member-member tournament this year. If not I hope to play in a couple men's day events.

Unfortunately, the golf season seems like a lifetime away here in Minnesota. thanks. J.A.C.

We have the Western Mass. Seniors golf tournaments, that I like to play in. If the several feet of snow ever melts!!!  Look forward  to the new season!!!

As I've gotten older and started a family, I've really reduced my competitions.  Now I'm more interested in fun.  Each year I will play in a handful of scrambles with some good friends, but that's' about it.  We always try to win, but at the end of the day we just want to hang out and have fun.  However, I have been toying with the idea of joining one of the amateur tours to see how that would go.  I wouldn't mind a little more competitiveness in my rounds, but still want to make sure I'm having fun.

I belong to a men's club at a local public course.  Season runs from April to mid-October with a couple of events for the top pro shop credit earners afterwards.

I usually play a series of club events (Member-Member, Club Championship), a few local tournaments (including a match play event that's a year older than The Masters (!)), and an occasional USGA qualifier.  Qualified for and competed in the Virginia State Open last year as well.

I will play in our state Am, state Open, state mid am, as well as some USGA qualifiers, and I will probably take another shot at the play in for the Greenbrier Classic. Other than that I will play in a Am tour, and a few pro scratch tournaments with my coach in the tri state pga.  Love competition golf, and glad to be back playing more tournaments.  Quite frankly I just love playing competetion or not!

I play on Wednesdays and Saturdays with a men's group that may range from one to four foursomes. Individual score is kept but the best two balls are scored per hole for the team against the other team. Small wager involved. From March through November I play in our club's Men Golf Association which plays once a month. Format varies but is team based. Monetary awards are given out to the first five teams in credit toward pro shop purchases. I also play in a city tournament once a year at one of the local municipal golf courses. Really, anytime I play golf even if by myself I feel like I'm competing and especially against the course more than an individual.

I join an inner club at a local course every year and they have a great group of active guys. We have matches every weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) and the format always changes. I try to get out at least once a week during the season for the regular matches. And I also play in our Match Play and Club Championship events.

Outside of those, I've also played in a few Mass Amateur Public Links qualifiers and hope to compete again this year.

I like to travel the state of Iowa and play tournaments in the summer. Many courses have amateur championships that are fun to play. Also, many courses have weekly skins matches that add a little money to the competition. If I were you I'd try to find courses around your state that offer these types of tournaments as well as public playing opportunities. Traveling and playing is fun to do because it tests your ability to adapt to a new course and also tests your skills.

Some really good ideas have been posted and it seems league play is popular. I used to play a lot of amateur events, but these days, it's down to MGA events and couples events at our club. Who knows, if the game ever gets back to what it was, I may try to play a few senior events.

We have started a men's tourny every month we call the west side cup. We figure handicaps and play the 2nd Sunday of every month. We keep points for the year of 1st-10th place also we play a different course every month and play majors at the more difficult course in Tulsa. It is a blast the 1st year we had around 20 people and this is the 3rd year we are up to 44 players. Other than this I try to play in any game I can find.

A long time ago I played in competitive tournaments, was a lot of fun once a month or twice a month ,playing different courses. All amateur events, had different divisions per your handicap.Several times played the Wisconsin team in match play. That was a riot what a good time. Then sit down and have a steak dinner and some libations made for a great weekend.

Use to play the frozen open and the chilly scrambles, alternate shot tournaments,,after getting back to playing golf again last year been thinking about playing some competitive golf events Still love  playing scrambles
