guys im thinking of getting a swing coach or instructor. I don't want to travel that far but I am willing to. I live in Charleston SC. I've been thinking of going down to sea island. when I was younger the guy to go to in town was tommy Cuthbert he taught my brother and helped my dad but my dad credits his golf to henry picard. but tommy has passed now. so my question is outside from paying for someone like butch harmon where do I go. whose the best.

I live in Missouri so I obviously can't give you any specific recommendations, but the best thing to do may be to take some time to talk with the instructors in your area. Start a dialog and try to find out how you get along with them as well as what kind of swing theories and teaching methods that employ.

That's exactly what I did before taking lessons from a local course pro. I probably went back and forth with him via email about a half dozen times or so and would stop by his office to chat every once in a while to get a better idea of who he was and how he did things. I've been extremely happy with him and have already scheduled my second lesson for the year.

Just make sure whoever you choose to help you with your game can teach in a way that's compatible with how you learn.
