Thought I throw something different out there. Does anyone like to munch on something while they play or do you just grab a quick bite at the turn?

Last year i requested a trial of KingMade Jerky. I was never a big jerky guy but after reading a few articles about how KingMade Jerky started (A PGA tour caddie started this up) along with some of the PGA tour players raving about it, i figured i try it out. All I can say is wow. It's now my favorite snack to munch on while playing and it's pretty addicting to be honest. It's so good and hits the right spot.

    I can't remember the last time I bought a hot dog? :)

So, does anyone have a special snack they like to munch on?

    Hey Chris -

I'm all about the food topics, ha! When I used to help run junior golf events, we loved having sunflower seeds. But now I can't go without having some sort of CLIF bar.

But I do love a good hot dog at the turn.

    Cheers!

If I have a good pre-round meal (breakfast or lunch), then I'm usually good for the entire round. Those times that I don't eat before hand I'll usually have a Brat at the turn.

Fun topic- foodie here...ha ha ha...
Anyway, I like to make my own trail mix snacks. Other than a couple of bananas during a round, a chocolate covered blueberry acai (Costco has it), I mix that with garlic peanuts. I know... #outofthisworld right! It is, and it is delicious and great for a quick energy boost, both the bananas and the trail mix.

Protein Bar right before the turn and a nature valley mid way through the back to keep my energy up!

During the warmer months of the year I would take a large zip lock bag with pre-pealed fresh oranges, apples, grapes, plums etc. When the weather is colder it's chocolate and bananas.

    Now I'm hungry!!

Any type of granola bar for energy then at the turn a cheeseburger. For a drink I would have water no matter what then an Arnold Palmer too see if his skills will rub off on me.

    Hi all,

Great topic Christopher - kudos! As for me, I generally have 2-3 "favourite" or "go to" snacks. It depends on the time of the year, weather outside and my mood!

    1). I put together a bag of cashews & peanuts with some chocolate pieces thrown in. I will typically use either small squares of dark chocolate or on occasion, M&M Chocolate;

2). Homemade oatmeal raisin cookies - made with whole wheat flour and with a few chocolate chips thrown in to boot!

3). And lastly, I will keep either a CLIF Bar or Kashi bars -- as a quick standby!

power bar and granola bar on the turn.
  12. A PB&J or egg salad sandwich. Some nuts or chocolate. I try to stay away from the hot dog at the turn. It usually ends up costing me a few strokes the next couple of holes...stomach gets too full. :)

Good topic! Personally, I hate to see sunflower seeds on the course. It seems like I'm always flicking somebodies "seeds" to the side when I putt (It's annoying). Many of the courses I play won't allow sunflower seeds on the course. My favorite is a trail mix that I can munch on while traversing the fairways and wash it all down with a cold water. Ok, maybe a cold beer once in a while.

Most of the time I'll have a Nature Valley granola bar and sometimes a hot dog at the turn. I like Kingmade Jerky but the last time I had a bag while playing at Spanish Bay, a crow took the whole bag while I was on the putting green even though I had the bag covered.

Gotta try the Jerky that's straight off the tour. I usually do granola bars.

    Grindelwald,

during the round I use to carry some bars or nuts in my bag
  17. I agree, great question! Banana and trail mix.... If playing in the morning I usually start with some veggies in my bloody mary! Love asparagus spear or pickled green beans, really seems to give me the energy I need until the turn when I can get another one!

If I'm just playing for fun with the boys then its peanut butter crackers or some sort of trail mix.

If I'm playing a tourney of some sort then I go with Amino Vital Focus Zone during warm up and Amino Vital Fast Charge at the turn. I will usually keep beef jerky or a PB&J in the bag as well for a quick snack on the course.

Great topic. With two teenagers in the house, 15 and 17, both sons, it is anything that is left. They do go easy on the Nature Valley bars though. A couple of those will get me through 18.
    Play Well,
