Any recommendations on a good indoor putting green?

Hey Don, if you are looking for an inexpensive way to go about a practice putting surface, something temporary, lightweight, but rolls true, look in to birdieball.com. You can order it and match the typical speed of greens you normally play in your area. I am completely sold by it. I have had mine for over three years. It's easy to set up although I've had mine in the living room year round.

Noel, thanks for the feedback. I will look into BirdieBall. Sounds like a good product.
  4. Don,

I second Noel's recommendation. I acquired a birdieball putting surface earlier this spring. Had it customized to have two holes on one end, a single on the other. For my situation, the 2 feet x 14 feet provides a variety of situations to explore. I am very pleased with the product....and I think it has helped me on the course.

Thanks for the feedback. Are you able to get built in breaks (i.e. right to left, etc.) with the BirdieBall? I will definitely look into it.

I have a big moss green. They are great. I believe mine is the competitor series with the three holes and the end and its plenty. Check them out they are great products.

Luis, thank you for the insight. I will definitely research the big moss greens.

I did a room with a thin smooth carpet with no backing underneath and it works perfect for practice putting.

I fully agree. I had my birdieballs green for 6 years now and love it. My sons have now begun using and I can already see the improvement in there games. Its a very dependable product that is use to use and stores nicely.
  10. I am in the process of building my own putting green. What I have found online is crazy expensive (to me, and that says a lot) I am starting of with some 6x6 wood posts and I'm going to lay down some 1 inch plywood on the posts, order a few regulation holes from Amazon with the little flags, just like at the practice greens. I will wrap it all with some outdoor style putting carpet and might even glue down a little foam to the wood so when the carpet goes over it gives me some breaks. I have a large basement with nothing in it so I am thinking at least 2-4X8 sheets put together with at least 3-5 holes

    I have a Big Moss---works really well.

I also use the Boomerang putting tool when I travel---fun to use and easy to carry.
