Played Friday and shot one of my best rounds ever and the next day I put up the biggest number in like 3 years (embarrassed to share the score). What a letdown. But I know I'll be back. Hit some good shots both days so I know it's still in there, just need to get past the disappointment.

That's what keeps me coming back to this game. The good shots. I *know* I can do it so I'm going to go back out there and try again! The bad days don't get me too down because in the end it's still just a game. I'm not making money doing it.

Nice going on your best round and I can relate on shooting a bad round after that. I had a great round one day and after that it took me awhile to break 80. I blame it on trying to hard to shoot low after a great round.

I did the same thing a couple o weeks ago. Shot a 79 and the next time I played reverse the numbers. Never pared a hole. My thoughts were, "Have I entirely lost it ?" Been shooting in the mid to low 80's ever since. Everyone has one of those rounds.

Happens to me more often than I'd like to admit. For me it's trying to take a swing thought from the day before to the next round. Can't do that... it's really about putting the club on the ball correctly each time.

I have been in a mental funk lately. At my age (be 70 Saturday) I try to maintain an even keel, as they say. Being retired I get plenty of practice playing three to four times a week. I have come to the conclusion that life is good and that golf should be fun and I try to keep it real and in the moment. A light bulb went off the other day and with few and I mean a few adjustments, the highs and lows have seemed to level out. Thought process on the course. NONE. =)
