Wow...David. I feel your pain. Yes I have played pretty close to that bad on more occasions than I care to admit. I'm fearful of doing it in two weeks in front of a whole bunch of #TeamTitleist members and having Abby say "Please leave all your Titleist equipment at the door on your way out" LOL But take heart, the next round always brings the hope of a personal best!!

Dave, I remember vividly a 4th of July round of golf here in the Virginia heartland some years ago. It was a very hot (+95 deg), humid, and sunny day like so many other days are here in Fredericksburg during the summer. I wanted to get a round in at a very good but very difficult semi-private golf course here. There were many golfers playing this day and I, as a single, was paired up with a two-some who informed me that they were from out of town (West Virginia) and had never played this course. Well we drove over to the first tee box where we exchanged some pleasantries. They had asked me for help playing the course as I had told them I played it many times. But something struck me funny when they said that they hadn't played much golf and were not that good. I have certainly heard this many before but many times I, being a low single digit handicapper, was able to offer some assistance to help the golfers get around the golf course. Little did I know just how bad these 2 golfers I had been paired with were, nor did I know what was in store for me on this holiday. Well it was time for us to tee it up and I hit first. I hit a straight drive down the middle of narrow par 4 fairway that was bordered on both sides with very thick and tall gorse like scrub grass. The first playing partner wound up hitting 4 golf balls slicing each and were lost into the gorse. He then took out a mid-iron and was able to put a ball in play. His friend duffed 3 balls into the gorse and then he took out a wood and was able to get a ball in play. On the walk back to get our cart they indicated to me that this was only the second time they ever played a round of golf. When I walked behind the golf cart they were driving in I had noticed that these 2 so-called golfers came well prepared to play as they both had brought with them 2 big paper grocery bags filled to the brim with trash range balls that they would use to play with. It turns out that these 2 wound up losing at least 10 balls each on every hole! Needless to say they were not playing for score. As the round and the drudgery proceeded, while we would make many attempts to find some of their lost golf balls, I would instruct 4 some after 4 some to jump ahead of us. Well after completing 12 holes of golf in this manner in 6 hours my patience had just about run out and I had informed my partners that I had a family gathering that I was late for and had to attend. I wound up leaving the course and driving back to the clubhouse unable to finish my round of golf. So Dave, no matter how bad you think your round of golf was, I do not think for a moment it could come anywhere close to being as bad as these 2 golfers from the hills of West Virginia played this day. Whenever I play golf and I am paired up since this time I make it a habit of looking in golf carts looking to see if my partners have brought with them bags of range balls. Only then will I know I will be in for a very long, and unpleasant round of golf. Best Wishes, DV
