  1. Hey Team! This coming season I have made it so that I will have time to play 9holes in the AM, 18holes during the day, and 9holes at twilight. For me this will be the most golf I have ever played in a day/season and I'm very excited to have the time to do this. I was thinking about how to distribute my time so that I can 1) avoid injuring myself 2) learn the most using the time that I have.

What would you do if you had these three blocks of time? What do you do to avoid injury and still play until the sun goes down?

    Thanks as always, Ben

I like where your head is at!!! Play on!

The most important thing to do is to properly warm up and light stretching of the lower back and hamstrings. It is very easy to be excited to play, pulling into the golf course on two wheels, and running to the first tee like an out of control bat. Not sure how long the drives will be between your location and the golf course but it could tighten you up and with a gold swing out of the gate could lead to injury. I sure you heard of golfers that have had back issues and have trouble playing golf.

Playing golf is not about swing correction when you are out on the course. The range and putting green is where you practice. With practice, you may want to do bandwidth, targeted, and focused practicing. The golf course is where you test and validate what you have practiced.

From my own experience, stretch! My daughter is real big on telling me to stretch my shoulder and back. I once played once without stretching and I hurt my left shoulder. So I make sure I stretch every time. No matter what my partner wants to do.
