Pro V1 Left Dot Is Here.

I have some exciting news, everyone! For the first time ever, you can now order your own dozen of Pro V1 Left Dot exclusively through Titleist.com.

Pro V1 Left Dot is a Titleist CPO golf ball (Custom Performance Option) that was previously only available to you if you played on one of the worldwide professional tours. It was created by Titleist engineers to improve performance for high launch, high-spin players. They achieved this by making small but important modifications to the stock Pro V1 design. The result is a model that retains all the greenside spin of the Pro V1, but which delivers lower launch and lower spin in the long game, as well on full shots with the irons.

Players who trust Left Dot for their success on tour love the way that they can swing aggressively off the tee, without fear of the ball spinning excessively. They can also flight the ball better on their approach shots and they don't have to sacrifice an ounce of spin or feel in the short game. Left Dot's combination of low launch and low spin also provided an unexpected advantage in tough playing conditions, as Fordie Pitts, Titleist Tour Consultant for Golf Ball R&D, shared:

"Pro V1 Left Dot performs in all conditions, but one thing that really stood out in our initial testing with players is how well it performs in the wind. The ball had less movement in crosswinds, and it lost much less distance into head winds. I have countless stories of players claiming 'It's like there isn't any wind at all. I don't have to make as much of an adjustment to the wind because of how well it cuts through it and holds its line'."

I asked Frederick Waddell, Titleist Senior Manager of Golf Ball Product Marketing to tell us more about this high-performing product...

WHAT IS PRO V1 LEFT DOT?

    ● ● ●

Left Dot was a hit as soon as it was introduced, with players across the worldwide professional tours validating its performance. Players like Adam Scott, Henrik Stenson and Bernhard Langer have all won multiple times with Left Dot and today, during any given week on the PGA Tour, you'll find 10-15 players taking advantage of the unique performance features of Pro V1 Left Dot.

HOW SUCCESSFUL HAS PRO V1 LEFT DOT BEEN ON TOUR?

The most recent win by a player who relies on Pro V1 Left Dot came just two weeks ago, when Tony Finau captured the first leg of the FedExCup playoffs at The Northern Trust. In the video above, Tony shares his thoughts on Pro V1 Left Dot with Fordie Pitts.

WHY IS THIS BALL CALLED PRO V1 LEFT DOT?

  2. Comparison to the AVX?

    Here you go...

For most golfers, Pro V1 Left Dot will fly slightly higher but in the same general window, spin more with iron shots and around the green, and have a soft feel but slightly firmer when compared to AVX.

    Hope this helps!
  4. Actually, It is intended to fly lower with less spin on longer shots. (Not higher, like most have commented) The left dash is intended to fly higher than the standard Pro V1.

I’ve been playing the left dash since the early part of this year. I absolutely love that ball and how it plays off the tee for me. I’m very interested in the left dot and how it compares. Looking forward to trying this ball!
  6. It should fly lower. So, perhaps the opposite of what you enjoy.

How does the Left Dot compare to the AVX? I currently play the AVX and really like it so just curious.

Great question! Here's some detail to help...

For most golfers, Pro V1 Left Dot will fly slightly higher but in the same general window, spin more with iron shots and around the green, and have a soft feel but slightly firmer when compared to AVX.

Sounds great, thanks for the info but one more question, how’s the distance compare? That’s one big reason I mostly play an AVX, I get about a 1/2-1 club more distance out of it. But if a course has firm greens, I have to revert back to a V1. This sounds like possibly my new ball!

This sounds great to me. I have been using the AVX ball this summer for a lower trajectory. Gonna have to give this new ProV left dot a try.
    Play Well,

Maybe I missed it, but how does this differ from the Left Dash Prov1X? I love the left dash ball.

    Hey Robert,

For most players, Pro V1 Left Dot will fly lower, spin more on most shots and feel softer when compared to Pro V1x Left Dash.

    Hope this helps!

Will these become available again or was this just a one time exclusive offer?

    Darryl,

This was a limited release based on product we had available and we are using this opportunity to learn about the future of the Titleist golf ball product line. If we are able to make more Pro V1 Left Dot available in the future, Team Titleist members will be among the very first to know. We'll keep you posted!

    Thanks for your interest!

  28. I ordered a dozen on Sept 1st and they arrived today. 5 Handicap...66 years young.....Put one into play today and loved the performance. I previously played ProV1 and switched to AVX a year ago. I play a TSi3 at 10 degrees and this ball flight was higher and longer. I delofted the driver by .75 mid-round and it was still higher than the AVX and probably 10-15 yards longer with both my driver and 3-wood. Reached our par 5, #18 hole in two for the first time in 10 years. I did no notice much difference with my irons or wedges. I came back to the website tonight to order 3 dozen more to share with my friends to find out they are sold out....ouch!!! I want more.
