The debate will never end. ProV1 or ProV1x? Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods? Beatles or Rolling Stones? NSYNC or Backstreet Boys? Coke or Pepsi? MJ or Kobe Bryant? 70’s Cowboys or Steelers? Let’s all agree there is greatness in all these and it’s okay to have your personal favorite. Just because I play the ProV1x does not diminish my respect for the ProV1. What is your favorite GOAT and Titleist ball.

That debate is almost as fun as trying to "predict" what Titleist will do with the ProV Left Dot! As an AVX player, and lover of the Left Dot, my theory is that they were going to release the Left Dot, and do away with the AVX since they're stated spin/launch/feel characteristics were similar. Then, they went ahead and issued a new graphic on the AVX, and released an RCT AVX and my head started to spin! Perhaps they'll relabel the Left Dot and release it as the NEW AVX?!? :) I'll join you in Streamsong to debate this over a cold one, Dale!

I've played the V1, V1X, AVX and the V1X Left Dash. The 1X Left Dash is a great ball! And MJ, Tiger, and Coke all day long...

Agreed. I'm one that's explored what both can offer and for me, I always go back to the ProV1. I even spent some time hanging out with the Left Dash and AVX.

Ops, I told you my favorite golf ball (ProV1x) but not some of my other GOAT's. In golf - Old Tom Morris, Singer - Frank Sinatra, Actor - Tie between Paul Newman and Jack Nicholson although I love all Clint Eastwood movies. Don't forget, along with you favorite Titleist ball, let me know who you think is a GOAT in any category. Oh, and we obviously know the GOAT of golf companies so you don't have to add that one.

Jack. The Beatles. Just no. Dr. Pepper. MJ. Steelers.

You're absolutely right. I never question what someone else is playing if it's right for them. Pro V1, X, AVX, whatever, if I'm on the tee with someone I don't know and they say they're playing any of them I know they're serious about their game and that's all I need to know.

FWIW, I've tried them all too and I'm firmly in the left dash camp. Was an X for years, tried the AVX and with the left dash they gave me the best of both, the higher trajectory, but lower spin off the longer clubs. Just wish they were more in stock at my local store or online more often.

Absolutely love the Left Dash. Total game changer on long-game spin.

Like a lot of folks, I’ve tried a lot of OEM golf balls. Tried both the 1 and 1x. I play the 1x for my personal choice and chose it differently than you probably should. And yes the debate on the GOAT in anything will never end especially but does make for good conversation.

Like George V and Dale V happy to discuss over a cold one or two.

Always wanted to try the Left Dash but never pulled the trigger. Maybe at Streamsong.

For me, hands down it’s the left dash. This ball has totally changed my game for the better!

I was just fit for a driver and used X for the 1st time, great ball. I did ask about the difference of 1 vs X to my fitter, they said with my swing and what I am looking g for to stay with 1. Agree though both great feel.

I think they are both great! I like what the Prov1 offers to my game, so thats the one i play!

Pro V1, Rolling Stones (Band), Tony Bennett (Singer), Steelers, Robert Parrish, Bob Gibson (Pitcher), Ted Williams (Hitter), Roberto Clemente (Player) Jack N.

So the Pro V line is exceptional but my preference is the V1 loved the X distance but feel threw me off some.

Ahh... now we're getting to Dale's idea of discussing GOATs! I'm most definitely with you on the Rolling Stones even though that's quite a contrast with Tony Bennett. :) The rest are all solid picks!

Have played the Prov1 for many many years. A Titleist retail account staff member gave me a sleeve of -Prov1x to try and really like it. Picked up three dozen from them. When I finish my current stock of Prov1s will be making a change to the -Prov1x. Even traded my left dot Prov1s in for them.
  16. I'd like to try the ProV1 Left Dot

I was a long time ProV1x player but I bought a dozen ProV1s in July and played them. Not a huge difference either way but I may buy some more ProV1s for the rest of the year.

    My GOATs:
Jack - golf (but as a KC kid Tom Watson is special to me)
Jim Clark - race car driver
    Dr. Pepper - soft drink
    Jimmy Stewart - actor
    George Strait - singer

I'm firmly in the Pro V1X Left Dash camp. I have played it for 2 years now and I hope they keep selling it.
  20. Same. The thing is too good to get rid of. I don't want to stop using it ever!

I kinda bounce around a bit with my ball selection. Mostly play ProV1. Sometimes the left dash…sometimes the X. 80% 10% 10%

I really love the ProV1 for its short game performance and soft putting feels!

    Cheers,

    Dr. K
  22. Pro V1. Beatles not stones, coke not pepsi, Federer not Nadal, Jack not tiger, coffee not tea, die hard not any other Xmas film

For my game, I prefer the spin of the V1x. As for GOAT’s:

Tiger, he created a world wide interest in golf and has inspired an entire generation (s)? of players. But I would not dismiss any argument against Jack, especially as he has become such a patriarch of the entire game.

Cary Grant, with Jimmy Stewart a close runner up.

Going to choose the Beatles over The Who.

    Secretariat

    Bill Russell

    Coke

  24. For me, ProV1 fits me the best. I have a naturally higher ball flight so the 1x is out of the question, but I have pretty good spin numbers so trying to take any off with the AVX or the left dash would be tough for me to keep in the air. Also, Tiger all the way.
