I caddied in my first PGA tour event in 1978. My last PGA tour event was in 2014. The best words of wisdom were from the great Titleist ambassador Charley Hoffman - "Show Up. Keep Up. Shut Up." According to Charlie, whom I totally agree with, these robots will prove to be the best ever. Just my humble opinion. Time will tell.

Will the tipping situation be to that of when we have to order everything ourselves off a tablet, get our own food and put the tray away….

If they are like those cars we have at PHX, these caddies will just walk in circles and you will never make it to the next hole.

Even though about 50% of the caddies that I have used read the greens incorrectly (with most of them acknowledging their mis-read), I am curious as to how these models will clean your clubs, rake the bunkers, and tell you stories and tidbits about the course (will it be like a self-guided museum tour?).

How about waving their arms and screaming "Danger Will Robinson, Danger!" when your ball is out of bounds or a hazard (Lost in Space reference for those of you not old enough to remember)

How about including a screen on their chest to show the Trackman and shot link data of your every shot?

Or an integrated cooler to keep your beverage cold during the round (or make a mean martini when you make a birdie)? Now that will be cool!!

One of the things I still talk and laugh with my golf buddies are the interactions and personalities of the caddies we used during our golf trips so I will stick to humans as long as possible.

Do they come with a drink dispenser? lol
