I have a couple tournaments coming up fairly soon. I am wondering what everyone does to prep or get ready for a tourny? I practice both at the range and putting green a few times then take the day before the tournament off. What do you guys do?

    Owen,

I like to get some really good practice sessions and maybe a practice round.  Occasionally I will go play somewhere the day before the tournament.  That is just what I do.

    Thanks,

I like to practice a particular shot I think I'll hit a lot during a round. Last weekend I practiced a 3/4 PW and 9 iron shot from about 110-130 yds because that was the shot I would hit the most during the round. I also practiced teeing off with hybrids because the course had some narrow landing areas. And I practiced putting on different slopes because there weren't a lot of straight putts on the course either. If the course of the tournament is kinda far away, play a practice round on a course that has a similar layout.
  4. I practice and practice weeks, days, months...ahead of time, all the way to the day of the tournament. I'll practice shot's I'll be using at that course. Like, I'll hit a drive, maybe a 7 iron, wedge...and so on. High, low, left, right, everything...Usually the course will have yardage books, but, I don't care if I have a caddy or not, I'll personally walk every single hole to scope EVERY single detail out. There's a lot to do before a tournament, however, don't forget to relax and enjoy it. Good luck!

  5. To prepare myself for a tournement, I go over shots that im not comfortable with and hit them 50 times. Another thing I do is about 3 days before the tournemnt i go play a practice round at that golf course. While im there i figure out what i wanna hit off every tee and than what will be my yardage for my approach shot. Make sure you get yourself comfortable with the course so when you show up you are ready to play your game.
