Just a heads up, we have formally locked in the date for the annual San Diego Area Team Titleist Golf Day. We will be returning to Arrowood Golf Course, Oceanside CA on Friday, March 15, 2024. A formal announcement with a way to reserve your spot will go out at the beginning of the year but wanted all the out-of-towners to be aware of the date so they can plan flights and hotels.

One of these days...I hope to make it to one of the TT events. Maybe something on the east coast would be nice?

Most of our annual TT Invitationals have been on the east coast over the years. Pinehurst, NC (twice); Kiawah Island Ocean Course, Charleston, SC; TPC @ Ponte Verde, Jacksonville, FL; StreamSong, Bowling Green, FL (Between Orlando and Tampa). Two others were Whistling Straits, WI and Bandon Dunes, OR and this year will be at the TPC Scottsdale, AZ. They are normally held in the fall and announced sometime around February/March. Everyone is notified that is registered with Titleist.

Do like others have, organize a local event and invite TT members. Contact Amy or Allan and they can advise you. Also check on the events calendar above and see where local events which are being organized by our members and play in their areas. A lot of things going on during the year.

Hi Dale, I am hoping to make down to your event March 2024. Can your give me a recommendation on where to stay in Oceanside?

If you fly in, you can find hotels all the way up Interstate 5. Just depends on how long you want to stay and where all else you plan to go while in San Diego. I gravitate to Marriott chains as I have a loyalty membership but you can shop the internet for a deal if you don't use a specific brand. I personally like the Old Town area as it is close to the airport but still convenient to drive to other sites like the zoo, the beach, Coronado Island, La Jolla, among other places. It will be about 45 minute drive north to Arrowood GC from there. You can also find hotels in Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, or San Marcos that will keep you closer to the event location and you can still find plenty to see in North County. Scotty Cameron shop, Goat Hill Park, Oceanside Pier, to name a few.

I fly in from WI every year. There is no shortage of Bonvoy (Marriott) or Hilton properties in the north county area.
My options out generally entail an early morning fight from SAN so I stay at a Fairfield at Pacific Beach. It’s less than 10 minutes to the car rental return and easy access to refuel. A little bit of a ride to the course but I prefer not to risk a backup on I-5 to catch a flight. When staying up county, I’ve stayed at a Courtyard near Polimar Airport Road. Also not far from TPI. Goat Hill in Oceanside is a must-do option for the Everyman experience.

There is a mundane municipal (Mission Bay) across from the Fairfield. It is the site of Tiger’s first win as a young junior. Just a historical note.

I was gonna start defending the "mundane" title you gave to Mission Bay GC, but i went blank. Its not terrible as far as muni's go for $30, ive paid far more for far worse across the country.

It’s priced right, but if coming from out of state, there are many other (more expensive) choices to choose in the county that offer more challenge.
I wasn’t trying to downplay Mission Bay. I’ve played some not so cherry courses just for the historical character. Asheville Municipal (NC) is a rare public Donald Ross course. At the time, it was fairly downtrodden but it has significance. My last visit to SD I elected to skip playing Mission Bay while it was in the high 90’s. Went to Old San Diego and hydrated with margaritas.
