Where does your main putter fall between fresh off the shelf and Tiger's main Scotty?

My Concept X CX-02 is still in great shape and could be sold as new. I baby this thing and game it every time I play. What's the point of having an excellent putter and not using it? Headcover stays on between every hole and gets a wipe down after every round. I never store it in the car, garage, or bag. It has a special place in my home.

While almost all of my putters are in very, very good condition even if gamed, my current gamer, a Studio Select 2.7, is very beat up. I rescued it from a 'used club barrel', where it was forlorn and calling me! I had to add some length (it was at 33") and a new grip. But, I don't have to really be concerned about taking care of it to keep it pristine. I still keep it covered and clean, and I don't abuse it.

While i try to keep my gamer pristine, I find the dings and scratches give my putter some character. Since there are probably a million Newport 2's in the world the scratches and dings make mine different from everyone else's.

I have a Studio Stainless that is more than 20 years old and is pretty pristine. I always use a headcover when I'm not using it, even in the house.

That is the way to do it. I have Scotty's that are 15+ years old and the soles show wear, but basically nothing else

I game Newport 2 SS. Been gaming for 15+ years. Look great as I did send back to SC to have paint fill updated and add stampings. Great putter

I game a Scotty Golo 6 since 2015. It has a few dings but I paint filled and new gripped it about 2 years ago, and it still will be my go-to for years to come.

My Scotty (10 years old) only has very slight wear on the center of the club face and a ding from having a friend wanting to take a look ... and then dropping it. So I'd say its pretty fresh off the shelf still.
Maybe that just means I need to practice my putting a bit more!

My gamer(s) are in very good condition. BUT, I bought them to play, not to sleep with it. I have a number of different headcovers to keep them covered and maintained in good condition. Hakuna matata. =)

My first one was a little beat up on the edges, but my current gamer (Special Select NP2) I've had for 2 years now and I've been very careful with it. Top line (the most important to me) is mint and the only blemishes are scratches on the sole which are pretty much unavoidable due to grit on the greens. Neither putter has a mark anywhere on the face, not sure how Tiger's got THAT beat up on the face itself lol. Best way to keep them nice is never EVER use your putter to pop the ball out of the hole (used to do that as a kid lol) and make sure when you get it home you take the headcover off and make sure the putter is dry.

I game the 2010 limited run Del Mar and the head remains pristine to the this day. I take extremely good care of this jewel as it treats me well.

The shaft is beginning to show some signs of age and mos tlikely will need to be replaced in the next couple of years.
  14. I do not like to see my face and top line of the putter I do not let get dented or showing any wear...the remainder of the putter doesn't matter as much to me. However, I keep my putter protected at all times show it looks fresh even after multiple years of gaming.

    IMHO

My studio stainless is mint except for being less shiny. It had too much glare when playing mid-day so I called the custom shop and asked if they could bead blast it or something. It was not a service that was offered so they needed to get Scotty to approve the work. That was back around 2003 when the custom shop was just starting up.

The soles of my putters seldom show any wear. That is because I prefer a bit more swingweight/heavier feel and layer lead tape on it!
  17. my gamer, Super Select Squareback 2 is a year old and in perfect condition. It it is not be used, the headcover is always on.

I very much want to look down at a clean top line so I make sure that I use my headcover every time, all the time. The sole might look aged but it isn't that difficult to keep the top and shoulders looking fresh. None of my putters are wall hangers and all of them have been gamed but by looking at them you'd be hard-pressed to know that, save a few of them that have warn soles and minor spots on edges and such.

I currently game a Cameron & Crown Futura 5mb that I bought used and fell in love with. I’m kind of hesitant to do anything to it.
I’m not superstitious, you are hahaha
  20. Still gaming a 2012 Newport 1.5 black. Nothing can knock this out of the bag.

My 1997 Newport 2 Tel3 was Tigers first Masters win. It’s in good shape considering it’s 27 years old. A few people I’ve played with have asked if i was interested in selling it, some have offered thousands of $$. The answer is always the same!
