I love golf for the experience to lose oneself  in a world  surrounded by nature,  To see the sunrise sparkling off the fresh morning dew and to smell that sweet smell of fresh cut grass. To laugh with some good friends and forget about your cares and lose oneself in a game called golf,to hear the sound of the ball hit the bottom of the cup or feel that pure struck shot.

I love the honesty and integrity of the game, all the people you meet and friendships that you make and the ability to keep on playing as long as the body will let you, these are just a few reasons while I play the list could go on and on.I love golf for everything that it stands for and for what golf has done for us.

I don't know really. I guess everything, but I can't even put it into words. The golf channel is on 24/7 at my place, I roll putts in my office, I change my ringtone to the Masters theme every March, I play every chance I get and I never get sick of it. I don't get emotional very often at all (the birth of my children and the passing of a dear friend come to mind as the closes I've come to a breakdown), but I'll say this - I was at the Old Course, and we came to the 17th hole. I hit the best drive I ever remember hitting. I was amped and I mean I killed one, right on the line my caddy gave me, way up into the narrow. When I got to my ball, he handed me a club but I just kinda stood there looking around, up the 18th, at the green, over at the Jigger, all around. I became pretty overwhelmed. I actually had to take a good minute to gather myself. That's what golf does to me. I can't explain it, but man I love this game!

Great question Mike. I not only love playing the game, but I am lucky enough to have worked at a county owned Fazio course for the past 19 years. The last 6 years I have been Daily Supervisor. There is no other plce better to watch come alive each morning than a golf course. We start at 6:00am, so getting in 9 holes after work lets you see the course from both sides. Also going through the process of buying my 915D2 was a close second. What a great driver! Thank You Titleist.

    Play Well,

    Steve S.

I agree that Golf is everything! The fun, the challenge, the friendships, the quest for eagles and birdies, it's all there.

It's a way of life and Team Titleist, Titleist equipment, and FJ makes it even more fun, thanks for everything Mike.

The chance to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. All the shorts that you will remember and even the one you need a little more practice with. The new courses and even the ones that you know where every blade of grass is. Every aspect of golf is exciting to me.

I like the joy I get with friends and that my grandfather taught me it's only a game. It is something toenjoy and have fun with out on the course. It by itself makes you a better golfer because you test your self at being better each shot.

So much to love about this game, hard to pinpoint a few. Don't have a regular foursome anymore as I moved to Colorado a few

years ago. I usually go to the course by myself and hope to join some others. If not I will play the round by myself. Take my time

enjoy the outside and just get a little alone time. Recharge, relax, and reflect. No talk about work, no whining, no worries for 3.5 hrs.

Would love to shoot my best score while playing but not really that important. Just to be able to play works for me!

I love that you compete against the course and your own ability.  Also the fact that you meet a lot of wonderful and diverse people.

  10. I love everything about the game myself. Being a player and caddie. The caddie-player relationship is the most crucial component to any kind of round. One of the reasons golf is great is alike to great players like Chick Evans who elevated the caddy business to an entire new ball park. The camaraderie is the greatest and the lessons learned you couldn't learn in any school. The caddie-player relationship is based off a lot of components. Most crucially teamwork. I love golf and believe it was the greatest game created by man. There isn't one thing that I don't like about it.

One thing I'm thoroughly enjoying about golf the past couple of years is having the opportunity to play with different generations and getting to know both younger and older people, learning about how they view the world, politics and what they value most as well as their golf. Friday we - myself and two 30 year olds (I'm 65) - asked a twosome to join us, the course being jammed-up and what a surprise to find this 84 year old Dad knocking it straight down the middle every shot, all day!!  He putted well too boot and his short game was solid...so, I encourage you to not overlook opportunities to play with strangers instead of clogging-up the first tee with odd groups of twos and threes. Often times you get to see some very good golf.

In all ways golf will challenge you to excel, explore and create. As an older cousin of mine said, "what would we have done without golf?"

That one shot...the one you hit that makes you come back...no other sport like it...

Golf is the greatest sport in the world. It brings people together from all facets of life. The fact that it's a sport that you can play for many years only adds to the greatness of golf. It's a sport that will beat you down and leave you still wanting more. Like one poster said earlier. It also gives you an excuse to travel and get out of the house.

The challenge, the feel of a great shot, the sounds and smells of a golf course, the great friends that I have made, the beauty (and the ugly) of a new golf course, these are a few of the things that I love about golf. There are so many, even a bad round gives you one great shot that makes you come back for more. It's a lifelong pursuit to perfect something that cannot be perfected.

I love being outdoors and having a challenge. I get both of these from golf plus being able to enjoy the company of others.  Golf also provides me with a sport that I can still play as I age.

  17. I love the challenge that golf brings to me, and I love that my grandfather and dad can help me improve. I started a few years ago just going to the driving when I was about 8 or 9 and knew that I wouldn't stop playing for a while.

    Mike,

You hit on just about all the reasons many of us love golf. One additional reason I love golf is that I and many of us can continue to play "for life". I can not think of another sport that affords older generations to continue playing and even improving skill levels as time goes on.

I love the idea of being on the course with a bunch of good buddies having a great time. Learning to be patient and understand how the game works. I enjoy a sport where you can compete against yourself each and every time. Always working on my game and open to tips from anyone on the course/range.

    MIke,

The thing I love most about the game is giving my kids the opportunity to learn this game, and share in their excitement when they make their first par, their first sand save, etc.  Seeing my kids truly enjoy the game, and learning values about honesty and integrity while having fun.  That's what it's all about.
