I was traveling the last few days, so just saw this Chuck. Hope things went swimmingly for you yesterday!

Unfortunately, we often have to take a small step back to make a giant leap forward. You are now beginning that journey to better golf and a more comfortable life in general. I hope it will make your path ahead easier, knowing that we are all rooting for you, Chuck. Keep us updated.

Surgery went well. Surgery team said they were able to relieve all the pressure from the nerve. Once out in recovery and then in my room no pain in the leg. PRICELESS. Did some PT in the hospital Friday and able to walk up and down a flight of stairs. My wife the enforcer is ensuring that I follow the instructions of the Dr as well as the PT team. Stort walks leading up to two miles within the next four weeks. Feel like they did their best, because I sure feel better. Slept very well Friday night and almost no pain on Saturday morning. Wearing back brace and taking meds as instructed and the enforcer is doing her job and am good follower. Have been walking some in the house, out to the mailbox and up and down the stairs to my man cave where I am spending most of my time, because I am required to stay in a recliner in the day time. Hope to start taking short walks around the neighborhood on Monday. I am feeling some good. My enforcer just informed that I need to come downstairs and walk, over and out, hakuna matata, and thanks for all the kind thoughts.......the doctors say golf is about twelve weeks or less away........if PT goes well....priceless...the T300s are awaiting my return.....cz =)

Glad to hear that you are doing well.
I remember waking up from my surgery and how relieved and happy I was for no throbbing pain down my right leg, and trust me it was not because of the anesthesia still working its way out of my body.
Follow the doctor and your wife's lead, I know you will be out there in due time.
Again it is great to hear that you are doing well Chuck.
  8. Chuck,

Just saw the post. Hope all went well. You'll be in my prayers. I know everyone said to follow the Dr's orders and as one who has had knee and shoulder surgeries I can't stress that enough. Be sure you also follow your wife's orders. Remember she can hide your clubs. Don't know how close you are to Isle of Palms but that would be a good place to do some of those 2 mile walks. Good luck and keep us posted.

    Mark

PS. Did you guys get any snow on Saturday?

Best of luck with surgery and rehab Chuck! You will have to limit the trips to Paige's during the recovery. :)

Cannot get in an automotive until Friday, February 21st, my next Dr's appointment. Pretty much confined to my recliner for a couple hours at a time then up and out and walking. Think I am up to about a half a mile a day now. Take three walks a day in our neighborhood. All depends on how I feel. Walk also numerous times a day to the mailbox and back and a lot in the house. Walking is my best friend. Mark, the Isle of Palms is about seven miles from our house and I cannot drive or get in a vehicle. We live in a neighborhood that offers great walking. Sullivan's Island is much closer, about four miles. And we had no snow on Saturday. It was in the mid fifties on Saturday and in the upper seventies most this week. Back down to the upper fifties this weekend. Fast recovery is not in my vocabulary. Am looking for a healthy recovery. Guess with all the walking, a good habit to get into. 4-6 weeks of walking the 4-6 weeks of physical therapy. That puts my at mid April, in time for the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head, Pro/Ams.......will definitely be ready.....also be ready to see my PGA teaching pro, to get my game in shape before starting to play again.......you know, tempo and alignment......will get there........that's my goal....

Just love to be able to go somewhere. Cannot drive or even go anywhere in the vehicle until Friday. Am so tired of my recliner and my mancave. Hard to maintain that no worries attitude. My wife has been so supportive. Thursday will be my two week point and I walked six tenths of a mile yesterday. Am trying to do that three times a day now, but the darn weather will not corporate. Wanted to give my Dr and good report that I am walking as much as possible. Absolutely no pain in the left leg. Told my wife that my leg feels the best that it has felt in eight years. Want to try to start walking again at the course when I get released. Glad I kept my Clicgear. Optimistic, of course. Cannot wait to get thru the first six weeks and into Physical Therapy. Complete that then on to tuning my game. Talked to my instructor and he said he is ready and he said it should not take long. My game was looking good before the nerves pains took me down. The last nine I played I shot two over at the Founders Club at Pawleys Island in the wind.
