My 2023 was really good and it'll be tough to match it as I tied my best round ever in back-to-back rounds and shot multiple rounds in the 60s. I think there are a few ways I can improve:

-Get fitted for wedges (and determine set composition with that)
    -Improve wedge distance control
-Huge one - BUILD SPEED. I have the SuperSpeed training system and need to effectively use it.
-Get some lessons for putting - I feel like I can putt better than I do.
  2. I’m a 12 hcp…who averages 2.35 putts per hole (which is ridiculous)! So, my goal is to spend 75% of my practice time working on my short game, especially putting. In particular, I’ve never really had much of a game plan, and essentially no chipping and putting routine. I’m actually looking forward to this. Good luck to everyone in the new year!

I am pretty excited about my 2024 golf outlook! I currently live on a small island in Southeast Asia, so the number of courses I can play is limited. I am moving back to the US next year, so I plan on playing as many different courses as I can! My wife recently got addicted to golf, so she is all for going on a cross-country road trip to play as many courses as possible! My current handicap is 15, so I am going to try to get that back into the single digits.

Honestly, find some love for the game again.
Recent life events have pushed golf down the priority list somewhat and I’ve not really felt much like playing. I can feel that my own mental health has been suffering as I’ve not felt any desire to play. Being winter in the UK anyway, my most local course is basically a muddy field so not the most appealing prospect.
Right now I feel like I’d happily give it all up.

  5. Peter, I think we’ve all gone through periods of time where the game meant more or less to us. If you’ve loved golf in the past, I wouldn’t give it up. In the off season find a golf simulator and work out a few kinks in your game. Find a flat stretch of carpet and practice your putting. Watch some golf videos, Golf Channel, golf movies… don’t give up the game. I live in northern Minnesota and our golf season is only 6 months long, so I do what you’re feeling, but I have given up the game before and regret the time away that I’ll never get back. Anyway, my 2 cents, I do wish you the best of luck!

    2) Take a series of lessons once cleared to swing a club
    3) Rebuild my game finally having a solid knee (first time in a few years)
    4) Enjoy being out on the course with family and friends

Become an 80s golfer with out spending any unnecessary money (balls, gloves, green fees only, maybe a tune up lesson or two).

    My goals for 2024
To try and get back to having a good time playing golf. I started thinking to much and enjoying less. It’s hard to have a good time when all you do is think are my hands correct, how’s my stance, head down, don’t sway and on and on. Golf is supposed to be fun I know I want to get better and lower my handicap but I also want to have a good time playing with my family and friends.

I'd like to play more consistently, both in frequency and skill. I don't mind that I'm no longer a super skilled player, but I do need to keep my scores a little tighter. Cheers all!
  12. Play more - 2x9 during the week, 1x18 on the weekend

    Improve finishing turn

    Keep focusing on tempo

  13. 1. Golf as much possible
    2. Won league with a 2 hdcp - like to win singles and teams again
    3. Set up back yard for more practice activities
    4. Really work on my physical health and physique - only 37 but man if I don’t work on it now when will I.
    5. Improve driving consistency - gir and proximity to hole.
    6. Make birdie putts - I swear I’m a walking meme 4 foot for birdie miss - 38 feet for par and hold my beer.
    7. Read more
    8. Get more analytical with the game and practice with a purpose.

    5. Improve GIR percentage from 30% to 45%
    6. Improve my average putts per round from 34 to 30
    7. Increase club head speed-see # 1
    8. Improve my on course decisions-as in hitting a layup on the par 5's or longer par 4's instead of the 3 wood
