I normally stick with pro v balls all year round, but I’ve always got a box or two of avx balls in the bag.
I feel they work better for me in high winds / cold and rain.
My uncle Dave plays off 1 in the seniors and swears by them too, great balls ️‍♂️

Just a little update on how things are moving forward.

Yesterday was a great 2 hour range session. Lots of short game work and also spent a bit of time with the driver.

I took that into todays round and shot a round of 79 playing off 11.1 so a Net 68.

Very happy with the Long game, the Driver was firing on all cylinders and hit some really long drives leaving me a wedge in hand.

I definitely left a few shots out there but with 10 pars 1 double bogey and 7 bogeys I’m really happy with the round and the way the game is trending and also it’s still pretty muddy and the greens are not at there very best.

So the score was good and there is still some work to be done to reach single figures by end of Sept 2024.

Will keep you posted on any ups or down. Happy golfing everyone.

    Evening all..

Well it’s that time of year again we’re the nights are drawing in and the weather changes for the worse.

Just wondering what everyone’s plans are for the winter?

Are you putting the clubs away, do you plan on just practicing and keeping your swing in check, or continue to play full on though to the new season ?

For my self I’m going to practice hard on the short game and try get in 2/3 hours a week in and around the greens and play a few rounds but mainly try and improve on the long game with the driver and try my best to keeping the ball on the fairway.

I have been thinking of switching my Pro V to a AVX ball and see if there is any benefits playing it in the winter ?

I’ve only played a few rounds with the AVX and have been impressed with the ball of the tee and hitting iron shots my biggest issue I found was the green side spin so we dabble with it and see how it pans out.

I’ve just changed my wedges from SM8’S to SM9’s, as was fitted a few weeks back so need to get them dialled in.

Look forward to hearing your winter goals or any plans you may have for the next few months.

    Happy winter golfing. ️‍♂️

    Just a little update.

So over the past few weeks I’ve been using a grip training Aid as been pulling a lot of my irons.

On Tuesday (7/5/2024). I decided to play 9 holes and see how the grip aid has been working and to my surprise I’ve been hitting my irons a lot better, to the point though 9 holes I was +3 , front 9 at my course is Par 35 so was over the moon so decided to play though to 15 and got to +6 but was rushing a little as needed to do the school run lol.

So over all the target to get to single figures is on track.
